Mid−Day Forex Technical Report − Euro Lifted by Strong CPI, Set to Make New Record High by ActionForex.com

EUR/USD's rise from 1.5342 resumes in early US session and surges to as high as 1.5894 so far. At this point, intraday bias remain on the upside as long as 1.5721 minor support holds. As discussed before, firm break of 1.5902 high and 1.5915 fibo resistance will confirm that whole rally from 1.4365 has resumed. Sustained trading above 1.59 will then encourage further rally to next important psychological level at 1.6000.

Forex Trading Strategies − EURUSD treading water just below recent all−time highs by Saxo Bank

By far the weakest currency at the moment is the pound, as GBPUSD failed to hold above 2.0000 once again and sees lower support failing as well this morning. The 55−day moving average at 1.9795 may soon come under fire. Structurally speaking, GBPUSD would look even uglier if the 1.9750 area can't hold, in which case we would expect a full test lower toward 1.9340. In EURGBP, we wonder if 0.8000 could come under fire, and in any case, won't likely top out until EURUSD also tops out.

Friday Notes - Lessons from prior banking crises by HVB Group

We expect inflation to accelerate to 3.4% in March. Upward pressure should come from food – on a steadily rising trend − and energy, likely pushed higher by the jump that took oil prices to USD 110 pb. We have penciled in a moderate increase in core inflation too, given the fading of the positive base effect related to the German VAT hike and the possible impact of the early Easter.
