Mid−Day Forex Technical Report − Yen Rallies on Risk Aversion again by ActionForex.com

USD/JPY finally took out 105.92 support, confirming that corrective rebound from 104.96 is completed with three waves up to 107.89. Further decline should now be seen to retest 104.96 low and decisive break will indicate that whole decline from 114.77 has resumed for next medium term target of 101.22/65 level.

GBP/USD Open 1.9836 High 1.9955 Low 1.9826 Close 1.9863.
First resistance for the Sterling today is yesterday's top 1.9960. Next is the top from 28 December at 1.2015, followed by 2.0060, where the 50 day crawling middle line passes. In downward direction support is expected at 1.9810, followed 1.9710, which is 37.8% correction of the climb 1.9340 − 1.9930.

US economic indicators - GDP growth in Q4 could have slowed down to about 1% qoq by BHF−Bank

As the PCE deflator could have risen by about 0.2% mom, real personal spending will have turned even more negative. The PCE core deflator is expected to have risen by 0.2% mom, leaving the annual rate stable at 2.2% – above the Fed's comfort zone.

Daily Recommended Trades − The Euro rallied on yesterday by E−Forex

The Euro rallied on yesterday and got past the 1.4800 then 1.4820 resistance levels setting highs at 1.4905 due to Fed's rate cut by half point. Support starts at 1.4850 backed by 1.4820, 1.4780 and 1.4750. Resistance starts at 1.4920 followed by 1.4965 and 1.5. Daily sentiment is bullish and will remain intact while the Euro holds above the 1.4750 mark.

Japan December Housing Starts Down 19.2% On Year (Dow Jones)

Japanese housing starts fell 19.2% in December from a year earlier to 87,214 units, marking the sixth straight month of double−digit declines, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Thursday. The result was worse than the 18.2% drop forecast by economists surveyed by Dow Jones/Nikkei.
